Greetings assholes. Our lives are so insignificant and pointless we find the time to do shit like this. Enjoy.

I love trees. These are some pictures (befores and afters) of two pieces I worked on this semester. I need to take some better pictures (hopefully some nice slides to send off for scholarships…).
The larger tree was for a Reliquary project. We had to create a vessel for our souls.. I would like to think that my soul would be perfectly content living in a beautiful tree. With a nice owl carving on the side and an owl on the top to watch over me! I’m not sure how visible it is, but I made it so that it looks like the branches on the bottom have been cut off. This relates back to my childhood when my father used to cut the branches off of the trees in our yards so I wouldn’t climb them anymore. He’s a very nice dad, but too concerned about my safety! There’s also a tire swing that reminds me of a time where I would swing with my sister in our backyard… asking our dad to push us higher and higher…and higher… :)
The other tree (the last picture) is actually the sculptural lid of the giant pot that I threw on the wheel. It sits nicely on top and connects with the branches wrapped around the vessel.
Yay trees! Like I said, better pictures need to happen. Pictures can either make or break a piece of art… right now these aren’t cutting it.
